Guidelines, Tips, and Ideas
For Tree and Wreath Decorators
Decorations should be non-breakable if possible.
IMPORTANT- Use wire to attach decorations and/or lights securely to the tree. These trees will be wrapped and shipped to the buyers, and wire will help to minimize potential damage.
A tree skirt is required (can be something simple to compliment the theme or something elaborate)
Decorating materials should be flame retardant or noncombustible. Please do not use living materials or unwrapped food. Degradable products like food or candy must be coated and sealed.
If gifts are included with your tree, please provide a detailed list including approximate values on provided tree sponsor form. This list must be received before November 15, 2010 for inclusion in the Tux & Trees Gala program.
The minimum decorative values:
7 ft. Tree - $500
Wreath - $50
Consider a gift certificate or gift items that coincide with the theme of the tree. Please do not actually attach any certificates or small valuables (jewelry, tickets, etc) to the tree. Instead, place them in an envelope and give them to the “Tree Concierge” on set-up day so that they can be placed in a lockbox for safe keeping. Want to be a tree decorator/sponsor in 2010?
